IHE above Society has been formed by the amalL gamation of The National Female Emigrational Society (London) with The Colonial Emigration Society (Birmingham), with a view (whilst reserving the right of contributors to appropriate their funds towards the emigration of single Females) to combine the strength of the two Societies for the purpose of carrying out more effedtually the ebjects common to both. |

OBJECTS OF THE SOCIETY. I. —To disseminate information on the subject o Emigration, ,—To afford advice to intending Emigrants. 3.—To facilitate arrangements for the passage of Emigrants to the Colonies. 4.—To make advances to Emigrants by loan or otherwise (whenever the funds of the Society shall permitt) towards their outfit and passage. , , s.—To correspond with the Imperial aud Colonial Governments in reference to the labour requirements of the several Colonies, and the classes of Emigrants needed; and to obtain their co-operation and support. 1. The mode in which' it is intended to carry out the above objects, is by the formation of a Committee of Ladies, and another Committee of Gentlemen selected from the general body of subscribers, aud the appointment of a paid permanent Secretary nt the Central Office in London, where every information will be afforded gratuitously, and where pamphlets and publication in connection with all the Colonies may obtained at a reasonable price. 2. By the establishment of Branch Offices in the arge towns of the United Kingdom, under the management of Local Committees. 3. By establishing Corresponding Committees in the Colonies, to co-operate with the Society in England, and especially to provide for the reception)' Female Emigrants upon their arrival at the port debarkation. 4. By providing a " Temporary Home" in London, where single Female Emigrants, who may have been accepted as fit recipients of the Society's assistance, may be received and visited by the Ladies' Committee. 5. By securing in co-operation with the " British Ladies' Female Emigrant Society," duly cualified Matrons for the superintendence of single Female Emigrants, and by providing materials for their employment during the voyage. 6. By raising funds, by grants, donations, and subscriptions in Great Britain and her Colonies, to carry out these objects, and to facilitate, at the present time, the emigration of the distressed operatives in t '.c manufacturing districts. In bringing the Society before the public, the Committee confidently hope that they will not make a vain appeal in favour of this great national undertaking. It is not their wish to urge the merits of any particular colony ; their object is to give that amount of healthy assistance which the strong may render to the weak, with the feeling that their aim is the public good. In this country and America several Companies are now successfully in operation, either for trading in particular domestic inventions, or in articles only adapted for certain irades or classes, and it is therefore believed that a Company formed for trading in Domestic Implements generally, suitable for all ranks and classes, both in England and abroad, cannot fail of success. Arrangements have been made for the transfer to the Company of a lucrative business in Washing, Wringing Mangling, Knife-cleaning, and other Domestic Machines the present net profits of which will assure a return of upwards of ten per cent, on the paid up oultal of the Company. It is intended immediately to commence business in suitable premises in the metropolis, to appoint Colonial Continental Agencies, and to establish Depots throughotS the United Kingdom. The preliminary expenses will be strictly confined to matters of actual outlay. The Directors, and their friends have subscribed for upwards of £IO,OOO in Shares before introducing the undertaking to the public.
