PARTICULARS 01 TOTACIf. FROM LOXDOIT. The ship Glendevon. 954 tons, Captain Brown, left London on the 28th Alay, took her final departure from the Isle o.i Wight on the 2nd Juno. She passed to the westward of the Cape do Verdes without sighting them ; had fresh X.E. trades, and crossed the line on the 4th July, in 22 = W. The S.E. trades were very bad, the ship getting so far to the westward as to sight the Brazilian coast, aud having to beat to windwardloclear it.

The winds continued scant to the Cape, the meridian of which was passed on the 16th August in latitude 40 19 S., and the easting was ran down in 47 ° S., sighting no land till she made Cape Maria Van Dieman on Friday morning, and anchored on Saturday at 6 p.m. The fine iron ship Surat, 999 tons, Captain Dunlop, huilt by Palmer Brothers & Co., of Liverpool, and classed at Lloyd’s for 20 years, and now on her second voyage, left London on June 18, went through the Downs on the 20th, and after beating down the channel against strong head winds took her departure from the Lizard on the 27th June, passing outside the islands she made a good run to the Equator which she crossed on the 25th July, the meridian of the Capo passed on the 20th August, the Easting ran down in about 48 ° South, and no land sighted till making the Snares on the 23rd September, from thence she has had variable winds up the coast, anchoring m Kangitoto, Channel on. Monday night and coming . up the harbour yesterday at noon, she brings 112 passengers, who appear“by the subjoined'testimonial to have had a verypleasant trip, two deaths and one birth occuring on the passage. The Surat reports the following vessels spoken bv her. The P. and O. Co’s., sailing barque, Harrington, 45° 35’ N 10° 51’ W., bound to Bombay on the 2Jtn June; Ship. Wellesly from Melbourne to London in 12 28’s! 32 = 27’ W., July 30, 62 days out, sent letters home by this vessel; Barque, Lizzie Jamison, Swansea, to Valparaiso, in 19° 37’ S. 33° 26 •o n August 3 ; Sir’p, Bolton Abbey, Liverpool to Calcutta. 47 days out, with loss of upper main topsail yard in 40 ° 46’ S., 15 Eon August 14. The Surat brings a large general cargo and is consigned to Cruickshank, Smart, and Co. ... The ship Columbus, 1077 tons, Captain Robert Adie, left the Downs 16th June, and took her final departure from Ushant on the 24th. She passed outside the Cape de Verdes had light N.E. trades, and crossed the equator in 95 0 il’W. on the 27th July; the S.E. trades were moderate, aud the meridian of the Cape was passed on the 93rd August, and from thence till nearing the Australian Coast she° had strong gales from W. and S.W., running the easting down in about 49 0 South. When off lasmama she met with a gale from the N.E , which drove her down acmin into 50 ° South. The North Cape was made on the 9th inst- at■ 11 30 a.m., and she came to an anchor last evening at 5 p m. . , The barque Steinwaerdcr, 340 tons, Capf. Enchsen, left the Cape of Good Hope on the 17th August. She had fine weather with fair winds until nearing the coast of Australia, and since that time had fourteen days’ easterly winds; came through Bass’Straits, made the Kings on Wednesday last, and anchored .yesterday at 3 pra.° She brings 200 immigrants as passengers, the names and trades of whom will be found in another column, and three infants died on the passage from teething. Capt. Erichsen reports that the Albert was to follow soon, with 250 passengers; and he expect id two or three more vessels to be laid on fur emigration to this place.—Bucholz and Co., ag«nts. — 66 Xew-Zealander,” October 15. The ship Eagle Speed, 1237 tons, Captain James Brinsden, left Gravesend on the 12th June, and after contending against adverse gales in the Channel, took her final departure from Mounts Bay on the 22nd instant. She had light and variable winds from thence until the Ist August, on which day ske crossed the Equator, from thence to the Cape of Good Hope she had the usual Trades, with southerly weather. The island of Tristan D’Acuuha was passed on the 25th August, and the meridian of the Cape on the Ist September, and from this to the S.W. Cape of Tasmania she had fair winds and steady weather. The King’s were made on the 13th October, the North Cape rounded the same evening, and she came to an anchor yesterday, at noon, in the harbour. The ship Jumna, 820 tons, Captain James Garrick, left Gravesend on the 4th July, and the I iz ird on the B’h ; passed outside the Cape de Verdes with light N.E. trades, and crossed the equator on’ the 9th August. Had poor S.E. trades, and passed the meridian of the Cape on the 11th September, and ran down the easting in 48 deg. to 51 deg. South. Went to the southward of Tasmania, made the Kings on Friday at noon, and anchored off the North Head yesterday afternoon. She brings 100 passengers of all ages, and a large cargo, and has been very healthy. There has been three deaths—two infants and one adult, William Steel—and one birth during the voyage. The barque Alice Cameron, Captain Nearing, left Sydney on Saturday the Bth instant at 5 p.m., with light southeast winds, which lasted for three days ; from that time till the Kings were made, on Sunday morning at 2 a.m., had strong westerly winds. The remainder of the passage light breezes from the northward, coming to an anchor at 7 a.m. yesterday morning. Ponsonby, arrived in harbor at Q a.m. on Saturday morning, bringing the English mail, which dates up to Ist September. She loft Sydney at 1 p.m. of th« 16th instant, having been detained by the non-arrival of the P. and 0. Company’s s.s. Madras, which vessel only reached Sydney at noon of the IGth instant. The s.s. Otago left for Sydney at the same time as the Prince Alfred.

The Prince Alfred, besides the mail, brings 45 passengers and general cargo, also 75 splendid draught horses on private enterprise, all in first-rate condition, as well as several dog carts, spring carts, and American buggies. The Prince Alfred experienced fine weather and moderate southerly winds to the Three Kings, which were passed on the morning of the 21st instant; along the coast fine weather with moderate south-westerly winds ; and at 5 p.m. of the 21st called off Russell (Bay of Islands) and landed mails and passengers ; no vessels were at the anchorage off Russell. Curagoa, Commodore Sir William Wiseman slipped from her moorings in Farm Cove on the 16th October at 4 p.m.. and at 5 p.m. got up the screw and made all plain sail, continuing thus until Thursday at 11 a.m., when she got up steam for twcnty»four hours. On Friday made all sail, and sighted the Kings at 6 a.m. on Saturday ; at 8 pm. got up steam, and, after calling at the Kawau for about an" hour, anchored in the harbour at 2'30 p.m. yesterday. The Guragoa brings a quantity of birds, kangaroos, &c., for bis Excellency Sir G. Grey; and Mr. Brenchley, a distinguished traveller in Ameria, and Mr. Wi-eman, son of the Commodore, were passengers by her. The Curagoa reports the Harrier to leave Sydney about the 20th for the Mauukau, and the Esk at Melbourne, bound to Sydney for a week, and from thence to Auckland ; also, passing a brig standing to the E.S.E. on the 18th instant. —“ New-Zealander,” October 24, FKOK MELBOURNE. The s.s. Claud Hamilton left on Monday, 10th instant, having been four days detained in the river by the freshets setting down after the flood. Passed through the Heads at 4 p.m., light N.E. winds in the Straits, light N.W. and S.W. winds across to the New Zealand coast which was sighted during thick northerly weather at II p.m., 17th instant, the screw was hoisted and the ship proceeded under sail alone, on the 12th at 5 a.m., and until 1 a.m. on the 14th ; at noon disconnected screw and steam up again at 7 p.m. There was no news of the mail being telegraphed at Adelaide up to noon, 10th instant. H.M. ship Esk was entering Hobson s Bay as the Claud Hamilton left. At 3 50 aim , 19th. whilst passing Kawau Is'and in the fair way between Fbt Book and Kawau, about one mile distant from each, the ship slightly grazed either the ground or some floating substance ; the ship neither swerved nor stopped, and it is doubtful which of the two may have been the cause of collision. The s.s. Hero left Melbourne on the 3rd instant, experienced in the early part of the passage light variable winds.- On Friday the 7th the wind suddenly shifted to outh-cast in a violent squall, which gradually increased to perfect hurricane, wiih a heavy' confused sea, ship taking much water on deck. Saturday, 9th, sighted the Solander, wind veering round to the north-east, still blowing with unabated fury ; arrived at Port Chalmers on Monday 10th, left again on 12th; arrived at Lyttelton on the 13th, discharged cargo and sailed again on the 14th instant, at 10 p.m., and arrived at Auckland on the 17th, after a splendid passage of seventy hours. The Hero will receive a detachment ef invalid troops at Auckland for conveyance to Melbourne, thence to be dispatched to England per clipper ship Koval Dane, now awaiting their arrival in Hobson’s Bay. ' The barque Chance, 256 tons, Capt. Dale, left Melbourne at 9'30 p.m. on the Bth instant; on the 9th and 10th bad a heavy gale of wind from the eastward, after which west and south-west breezes strong, and continuing until the 15th; since then light variable winds, and anchored at 6 p.m. on Sunday. She brings 14 passengers and a generacargo, and is consigned to A. Woolley and Co. —“ NewZealander,” October 24. FROM NEWCASTLE. The barque Rhoderick Dhu, 376 tons, Captain McPherson, left Newcastle on the 18th September, and for three days after leaving had light airs and calms, and on the sixth day being only about 500 miles from whence she started. The Kings were made on Wednesday last, with strong S.W. winds, and she anchored on Saturday afternoon in this harbour.
