Commissariat, Auckland, 25th August, 1863. LENDERS, in duplicate, will be received at this Office until noon of THURSDAY next, the 27th instant, for the supply of 100 PACK SADDLES (CAPE PATTERN). STRAYED from the Transport Camp at Drury, the following animals, viz.:— Bay Horse, star on forehead, No. 314 Brown Mare, star on forehead, white on nose, No. 343 Bay Mare, saddle mark on both sides, No. 349 Brown Horse, star on forehead and near hind foot white, No. 366 Black Gelding, J.E. near shoulder, J.F. off shoulder, saddle marks, No. 410 Brown Gelding, star, saddle marks both sides, feet white, No. 428 One Bullock, numbered on near horn, strayed into Ligar's Bush. IHE undermentioned Officers have been constituted a Board to hear applications (based on grounds of public advantage) from persons asking relief from Militia Service:— LIEUT.-COLONEL HAULTAIN, LIEUT.-COLONEL NATION, MAJOR CAMPBELL. The Board will meet daily at the Militia Exemption Office, Shortland-street (late Newman & Ewcn's), between the hours of 1 and 2 p.m., to dispose of applications which will be received and registered at any time during office hours by the Clerk of the Board. The Board are directed to rehear all cases already decided by the Government; all such applications must therefore be renewed, Applications from Government Contractors will be first disposed of, and other applications afterwards according to priority of registry. 28th July, 1863. ANY Volunteer for actual service can be sworn in and enrolled at the Militia Office on any day during office hours. A certificate of enrolment will be delivered to each Volunteer, and his pay and rations will commence as soon as he reports himself at the Camp. Otahuhu, to Major Pitt, the Commanding Officer, which place will for the present be the Headquarters of the Force. The pay will be 2s. 6d. per diem, and the rations such as supplied to H. M.'s Regular Forces. The clothing will consist of 1 cap. 1 blue shirt or jumper, 1 pair of trousers, 2 pairs of boots, 1 pair gaiters, and 1 great coat, furnished at the expense of the Government.
