Tenders for Works on the Great South Eoad. Superintendent’s Office, Auckland, 16th December, 1861. TENDERS tvill be received at this office until noon of SATURDAY, the 4th January next, for repairing the roadway and bridges on the following Sections of the Great South Road, and maintaining the same for one year, according to a specification which may be seen on application at this office. Section No. 1 extends from the junction of the South Road with the Epsom Road, to the South side of the Bridge which crosses the Tamaki river at Otahuhu. Section No. 2 extends from the South side of the Otahuhu Bridge (above mentioned), to the South side of the Bridge next to Mr. Burton’s Half-way house on the Otahuhu side. Section No. 3 extends from the South side of the last named Bridge to the South side of the Bridge in Papakura village, immediately beyond Mr. Wells’ Inn on the Drury side. NO satisfactory tender ha ving been received at the date named in the former advertisement, Tenders will be received at this office until noon of FRIDAY, the 27th instant, for such Carting as my be required by the Provincial Government, from theTst January, until the 30th June, 1862, in accordance with a specification which may be seen on application at this office, and subject to the general conditions published in the Provincial Government Gazette of the 25th November, ultimo. S. P. J. & Son being importers of their own stock, and having an agent in London of considerable experience, perfectly acquainted with the London markets, and thoroughly qualified to select from the various vintages and brands, they feel confidence in stating that the goods they are prepared to supply will bear the test of comparison, both as regards quality and price, with those of any other establishment in the trade. S. P. J. & Son would call attention to shipments ex “ Ida Ziegler” and “ Black Eagle,” consirting of— Champagne Cyder, Bass’ Bottled Ales, Jeffrey’s Edinburgh Ale in stone bottles, and Dawson’s Pale Ale in bulk; the latter they can supply in casks of two, five, ten, and eighteen gallons, to suit the convenience of families.
