LOCAL MUTUAL LIFE INSURANCE AND PENSION ASSOCIATION. THE PROJECTS of this Association are — 1. To insure for certain sums at death, payable in one sum, or by way of annuity, to appointee 3. To insure pension at certain age 3. Payments Weekly, monthly, or otherwise, to suit all classes 4. Management —By President, Committee, Trustees, Auditors, Manager, &c., appointed by the Members themselves 5. Responsibility—To be registered under the Act 6. Rates According to the tables (planted by order of the House of Commons) prepared by A. G. Finlayson. Actuary of National Debt; and on the Reports of Tidd Pratt, Registrar of Benefit Societies 7. All profit to be divided amongst the Members, either periodically in cash, by addition to the sum insured, or by decrease in the payments. All feeling an interest in the establishment of such an Association are invited to communicate to the undersigned. These (particularly the Clergy) who have seen the great number of cases of suffering and destitution arising from want of provision in the event of the certainty of death and sickness of parents, husbands, and friends, are earnestly invited to throw in the benefit of their deliberation and opinions upon this matter. ON MONDAY EVENING, the 25th inst., the Auckland Total Abstinence Society will hold a TEA MEETING in the Odd Fellows’ Hall. The addresses will be delivered chiefly by Friends who have lately arrived in the Colony. The attendance of the Public is respectfully solicited. As it is in contemplation to erect a Temperance Hall, the proceeds of this Meeting, after defraying the necessary i expenses, will go to the Building Fund. Tea on the Table at 6 o’clock. A PUBLIC Tea Meeting will be held in the Wesleyan Chapel, Whau Road, on next Monday, being Easter Monday, when a sermon will be preached in the open air at three o’clock.
