yards wore well attended by buyers. Fat cattle sold at from £9 to £l3 17s fid. Store Stock sold well, especially young cattle, several lots bringing very good prices. Sheep ■ till Bold high, realizing from 425. to 435. each. Lambs brought from 14s. to 225. each, A young Colt sold for £'!>, and several other horses were withdrawn, ns the prices offered were not satisfactory. Dairy Cows were enquired for but were not brought forward. On Wednesday last Mr. Hunter held his monthly sale nt Otabuhu, About lot) head of Cattle were brought forward, and, as at Newmarket on the previous day, realized good prices. The attendance of buyers was larger than usual; all the lots brought forward sold at a considerable advance on previous rates. Twenty-two to three-year-old Steers brought from £lt 17s (id to £y each. A mixed lot of Heifers and Steers sold for £0 12s fld. A lot of eigliteen-month-old Steers sold for £5 /is each. Thirty-year-old Heifers and Steers brought from £4 7» to JL'4 15i each. At the Newmarket Cattle Sale held by Messrs. Chcieseman, on Tuesday last, the 26th instant, there was a numerous attendance of buyers. Fat Beef fully realised the previous week's quotations. At their Otahuha Store Cattle Sale, on the following day, (Wednesday 2(ithj there was an active competition throughout, and a considerable number of Steers, Heifers, and Yearlings, changed hands at good prices. There is an increased demand for Dairy Cows and Store Cattle.

Messrs. Hardington and Wood's horso sale was exceedingly well attended on Saturday last, in fact, the Bazaar yards were thronged for its pave has become quite a fashionable lounge on fine sale days. The biddings were lively, and a very considerable business done, at figures slightly in advance. Hardington and Wood, held a Land Sale in their Rooms on Thursday, and disposed of a number of village cottages and allotments, and a few country properties. An acre and cottage at Ouehunga brought £OS. A small allotment in the same Village, without cottage, gave £ls. An acre and cottage at Howick was knocked down at £lli 10s- Five acres near Pantnure sold at £l3 an acre. Country lands in their natural state sold at IDs to 15s, And one large block brought • shade above £2O. On the whole there seemed more eagerness to purchase than has appeared of late, and all was sold that was put up.

On Wednesday, Messrs. Council and Ridings brought the new township of Newtown, on the Karangahape Road, to the hammer. Sixteen lots, each with a frontage of about 33 feet, with a depth of 100 feet realised 30s. per foot on the average. Fifty back lots, of equal size as the front, were sold at an average Of £ls per lot. An allotment in West Durham Street, with a frontage of 110 feet, was disposed of by private sale for £l()0.

At the salo held by Mr, Alfred Bnckland at his Yards at Newmarket yesterday, there was a numerous attendance of buyers, and a large supply of stock (above 170 head being disposed of), Store Cattle sold freely at late prices, but on beef a decline was submitted to. There was a short supply of Fat sheep and those sold well, but some of inferior quality were withdrawn, a large supply of Lambs vrith rather a dull sale realizing from I3s. (id. to '>H. each. Dairy Cows are in demand. 4 Riding horses were disposed of, realizing respectively £'3s £27 10s. Ud. £iu 10s. od. £22 10s. Od. a draught horse at £'3lt, and an unbroken colt at £'u'o.
