AUCKLAND REGATTA, 1858. SPECIAL NOTICE. ENTRIES FOR REGATTA, From (I to 8 p.m. punctually, THIS DAY, (Saturday,) the 2 3rd instant , at the Mechanics' Institute. HTMIE COMMITTEE respectfully request the attention of all persons who purpose entering Boats or Vessels for the ensuing Regatta to the published “ Rules and Regulations,” especially Nos. 1, 2, 0, and 17. The lion. Secretary will be in attendance at the Institute at 5 p.m., (same evening,) to receive the Books from those Gentlemen who have kindly acted as Collectors for the “Regatta Fund;” such as cannot attend will please forward the same. Treasurer — Alexander Kerr, Esq. nnilE NELSON YACHT CLUB will -L give a CHALLENGE CUP, value 50 guineas, to be sailed for in Blind Bay, at the NELSON ANNUAL REGATTAS, by Boats not exceeding 50 tons belonging to any of the New Zealand Provinces. The Regatta for the year 1858 will take o J place on Thursday, the 18th March. The Matches for the Cup to be sailed in accordance with the Rules of the Nelson Yacht Club, under the direction of the sailing committee for the time being. The distance, out and home, not to exceed 14 miles; time to be allowed for tonnage. The bund fide owner of a competing Boat from any of the sister Provinces will be deemed an honorary member of the Club for the occasion, and, as such, be entitled to all its privileges. The Cup to be awarded to the owner of the Boat that shall be declared the winner of the Match for two consecutive years. By order of the Committee, W. Akersten, Secretary. Nelson, December 21, 1858. Madame De Bar having had great experience for many years in instructing young people, will undertake to teach the Arc of Dress Making, &c., &c., in a Series of Lessons. Patterns given to Pupils. Ladies desiring to have their Patterns taken for their own use can depend upon the latest designs. Apprentices and Improvers wanted, also a good first hand Dressmaker. TO CARPENTERS. TENDERS wall be received until noon of Saturday, 23rd January, for the Carpenters’ and Joiners’ Work required in completing a Stone House at Parnell.
