THE AUCKLAND FARMERS' CLUB.
The Monthly Meeting of the Club took place, as usual, at the Exchange Hotel, on Saturday last, when the following new members were elected, namely :—Messrs. Fussell, R. Graham, Guthrie, Me Gauran, and J, McDougall. The Secretary reported the purchase of various Agricultural works, and read a list of others ordered from England in formation of a library of useful and practical knowledge. Mr. Smythies’ paper on drainage, which had been published in a separate form, was laid on the table for general distribution among the members- Those not present on Saturday may have copies by calling at the Club Room. It tvas suggested that the subject for discussion at the next meeting, on Saturday, 2nd August, should be the “ propriety of making early and satisfactory arrangements for an Agricultural and Cattle Show to take place sometime in November.” The Farmers, as a Club, might do much to benefit themselves and the community at large were they to enter into a Bode, to be kept for that purpose, the quantityjof land they place
