The schooner Maria Theresa, Captain Upton, arrived from Sydney at an early hour on Sunday morning. She sailed from Sydney on Sunday the 20th ult„ and on the following Wednesday (23rd) experienced a heavy gale from the East-south-east, which split several of her sails and stove parfc-of her bulwarks. Since then, she has had only light winds, the gale which raged so fiercely here throughout the 25th not having extended to the latitude in which she then was. On that day, the weather, with her, was calm, but with a heavy swell from the Eastward. The Maria Theersa is one of those beautiful fore and aft schooners for which the United States has long been deservedly famous. She is of 1 18 tons burthen, and has been sold to Melbourne owners, from which port she now bails.

The brigantine Galway Ark returned to port on Sunday morning, after having taken on board a very large cargo ol timber and spars at Mahurangi. The Galway Ark has proved to be a staunch, substantial ami burdensome vessel, and has done much, during her recent trip, to show the great importance and easy navigation of the Mahurangi Itiver. She sailed up that beautiful river within a mile of Mr. Brown s saw mill, which is situated at the head of the navigation : and at that spot she loaded to a draught of eleven feet: this, however, was, probably, au extreme draught, and might have been better at a foot less. It is sufficient, nevertheless, to demonstrate the practical value of the Mahurangi, not only to the settlers on its banks, but as a source of varied supply to the Port of Auckland.

The barque Monarch, Captain Dixon, arrived in harbour on Sunday evening, after a fair average passage of 110 days from the Downs. The Monarch sailed on the Kith of May, and experienced moderate weather during the greater part of her passage. Whilst going free, with stunsails set, she had the misfortune to lose her iron tiller, which snapped short of! at the rudder head. She lost a number of her sails (we believe) in consequence of this casualty. The Monarch brings no passengers, although she has very excellent accommodations, and several passengers offered. She la bumper full. Ibe Monarch is a very handsome barque, and was built at Sciliy, about ten years since, almost on the same slip from which the schooner Marmora was launched.

The Heather Bell left Sydney on Thursday, the 24th ult., at noon, and has had an exceedingly pleasant passage of 11 days, neverhaving stowed her royals throughout the run. She anchored outside of Wangaroa for twelve hours on Friday night, for the purpose of landing Mr. Sheppard and his family, and came to anchor in Auckland on Monday at noon. Captain Macf-trlane’s new schooner, the qhieen of Perth, was to sail from Sydney the first week in September. She is reported to bo a regular clipper of the Aberdeen school, built at Dundee.
