Commissariat, Auckland, 461h December, 4852. TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon of Friday, the 34 si instant, from persons willing to Contract for supplying Forage for Military Service, in the Auckland District, from 4st of February to 54 st of March, 1855. The Rations lo consist of— 40 lbs. Oats. 44 lbs. Hay. 8 lbs. Straw.

The price to be stated at per Ration.

The Forage to be delivered by ihe Contractor at the quarters of the several Officers and persons entitled, at such times, and in such quantities as may be directed by the undersigned, or his successor in office. The different articles composing the Ration are to be of the best marketable description in every respect, and when a difference of opinion as to quality may arise, it is to be decided by a Board of Officers to be appointed by the Officer in command of the Troops for the time being. Should the decision of the Board be adverse to the Contractor, he must immediately furnish other articles of a satisfactory de- { scription, or else the Commissariat will cause purchases to be made, and charge the expense against the Contractor. It shall be in the power of either party to limit the duration of the Contract by giving, in writing, a notice of three calendar months to the opposite party. Such notice j to be given only from the first day of a | month. No transfer of a Contract will be per- i mitted without the previous consent of the Senior Commissariat Officer. The Contractor to prepare his account monthly, according lo the usual Form, and on producing the same, supported by pro- i per Vouchers, will be paid in cash when the amount is under 50J., when above that sum, payment will be made by a Treasury Bill at par. , Each Tender must be accompanied by a statement signed by two competent persons, and expressing their readiness in the event of the Tender being accepted, to become Sureties for its due performance, by entering into a Bond, the penalty of which will be the same as the estimated amount of one month's supplies. The Tenders to be in duplicate, and, j when once sent in, are not to be altered or withdrawn. Information as to the Tender accepted shall be given as soon as the decision has been made in that respect, and the Bond j must then be completed without delay. Should any person who may sign a Tender, either as a proposed Contractor or as a Surely, refuse to fulfil his offer, he will be considered in future as ineligible lo act in either capacity. HPENDERS will be received at this Office J- until noon of Monday, the 271h instant, from persons willing lo supply the Royal Engineer Department, at Auckland, for one year, commencing Ist January, 4853, with Stone Lime, at per bushel.
