The barque Janet, was to leave Sydney on the 17th January, for Auckland direct. The schooner, Cheerful, froni Auckland, arrived at Hobart Town on the Bth January, — 28 days out.
A very large fish was cast ashore a few days since at O;aki, with a comb on its head, resembling in appearance the head of a fowl. This strange fish had a large head, terminating with a long snout j tlie natives did not know what name to assign it. The creature turned out two tuns of line oil.— Wellington Spectator.
