DIED.
At Waimate, on the 11th July, 1845; from wounds received at the assault on the pah of Ileke, the Rebel Chief,— Edward Beatty, Esq., Lieut., H.M. 99th Regiment; second son of D. Beatty, Esq. of Heathfield, County of Wexford, Ireland. This gallant young Officer was most highly esteemed, and is most deeply regretted toy all ofhis brother officers.
