OAMARU TENNIS CLUB.

ANNUAL REPORT. The following is Ihc annual report of the Oamani Lawn Tennis Chili, which will lie presented at the annual general meeting of the club, to be held in Mr E. I' 1 . Armstrong's rooms at live o'clock this afternoon:—

"Notwithstanding the depletion of the club's membership owing to the war, the season just closed has been a satisfactory one, both from a playing anil a financial point of view. The membership compares more than favourably with 'that of last season, and the courts have been very* well patronised throughout the season, especially by Hie lady members.

"The club jias now twenty-threo of its members on active service, whici total is highly creditable, considering that the number of male players in pre war limes was only twenty-nine. Of. these, we regret to say that eight have paid the supreme sacrifice, and our sympathy is extended to their relativesin fheir great loss, During the year further enlistments were made by several members of the club, including; Mr F. Jones, who was a prominent member of many years' standing. It was. decided to have the names of all members on active service inscribed on an Honours Board, which will be hung under the verandah of the pavilion.

"Three matches were played against the Hill Tenuis Club during the sea--son, and were useful in giving members of both dubs opportunities to keep in form for inter-club competitions.
