CHRISTCHURCH LAND AGENT ARRESTED.
—— i ALLEGED THEFT OF TRUST FUNDS, FURTHER CHARGES PENDING. (Per Press Association), CHRISTCHURCH, September 10. Tn the Magistrate's Court, late thin afternoon, Alfred Ernest Crnrtdock, of Christchurch, the well-known laud and commission agent, and now bankrupt, was charged: "That on May Ist, 101,1, ho being trustee of ihe will of Dennis Booker, formerly of Christchurch, fanner, who died in January, 1012, with intent to defraud, and in violation of his trust, he converted &150, of which he was a trustee, to his own use, this jbeing not authorised by the said trusi."
Mr Gresson appeared for' accused, who pleaded not guilty, Mr Raymond, K.C., said Craddock had just been arrested, and asked for a remand. Further investigations were being conducted, and there were likely to be other charges. Mr Gresson applied for bail, and Mr Raymond, while not opposing the application, asked that the amount be fairly substantial. .The Magistrate remanded accused till Monday next, and fixed the bail at accused in £SOO, and two sureties of .£SOO each.
