STBANGE EVIDENCE AMONGST TONGAN ISLANDS. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, September 10. The Star's Tonga correspondent stales that the cutter Janet, on a voyage from Niuafu to Yavau, on August 20th, passed for twelve miles through a sea thickly covered with pumice. Despite a five to seven knot breefie, the vessel's progress was stopped.... .-.Tho pumice field extended to the horizon jn all directions.
