VIOLENT ARTILLERY ENCOUNTERS. ENEMY ATTACKS RUSSTAN POSITIONS. (Australian and Reuters). Received September 9, at 5.5 p.m. LONDON, September 8. A French eastern communique, dated 6th September, says: The artillery struggle is somewhat violent _iii the region of the Vardar, especially on the left bank, where the British artillery eomimies its destructive lire. The enemy twice attacked the Russian positions between Lake Prespa and Lake Ochri.la. The iirst attack completely failed, but the second enabled the enemy to gain an entry into some elements of the advanced trenches.
