SHORTAGE IN CAMP.

WHOLE REINFORCEMENT BEHIND, WELLINGTON, July 'iX There is still a shortage of about a whole draft of reinforcements iu the camps, Tlie men are in sight, and in course of time will be available, but there seems to be a recurring delay in getting every fresh draft of men into camp—a ilelav which did not ocenrSmdor .the olil system of voluntary enlistment, If all the men balloted ami examined ready to go into camp were to lie tahon in now the camps would be more than comfortably tilled, There are, however, good reasons why it is advisable that the camps should not, be too full iii the winter season, and the present shortage is not causing the authorities any concern.

In the tcrriblo economic struggle that is to come after the war, we in New Zealand will have to rely upon our own resources. Now is the time to prepare ourselves.
