NECESSITY TOR ECONOMY. (Per Cable —Press Association—Copyright:)' PERTH, July 21. Ar the opening of the State Parliament the Governor's Speech expressed anxiety as to the deficit. The Government proposes to economise strictly, and to amalgamate several depar'ments. and when the amount of ihcse savings has been ascertained a scheme of taxation to balance the revenue and expenditure will lie introduced. The present time is inopportune for the introduction of legislation, as the Government's policy must first lie submitted to the people for endorsement. MINISTER OP MINES DEFEATED.
