"LITTLE MAEAROA'S" ADVENT,
A SOLDIER'S BABY
The arrival of the ferry steamer Mararoa at Lyttclton on Sunday morning was marked by a somewhat unusual incident, The disembarkation of passengers was proceeding when suddenly the gangway was ordered clear for. an extra-special passenger or event.
It appears that the wife of a member of one of New Zealand's Reinforcements had been to Wellington'' to take leave of her husband. The adieux having been said, she returned by the Mararoa. During the voyage, a "Jittie stranger" was ushered into the world. Tlt'e addition to the passenger list was successfully attended to by the stewardesses, and kindly lady passengers. So far as can be ascertained "little Mararoa" and her mother arc both doing well, \
