DUNEDIN BURGLARIES.
; MYSTERY SQLyjID. ' ''' I i,, t j Ini ,h, (Per Press Assciation.) DUNEDIN, July 17. ' The mystery surrounding the recent burglaries in the city has been) solved' by the arrest of a youth named Tasmaii William Wilson, aged nineteen years;Wilson, who was originally arrested on a' charge of a revolver and cartridges at iliddlemarch, has confessed to the committal of three burglaries in Dunedin, . [lt seems that the business and residential quarters of Dunedin are proving an attractive, though fortunately' 1 not very profitable field for the depredations of a housebreaker at present. Tlio Otago Daily Times states that towards the end of last week unsuccessful attempts were made to enter tlio establishments of Messrs Wilson, Balk and Co. and the West-port Coal Company. Apparently nothing was taken, but somo windows were damaged. The result of an entrance being effected to the office: of McCallum ami Co.'s sawmills, Crawford street, between Saturdaynight anil - Monday morning, shows that tlio visitor was not devoid of humour, Across tlio rilled drawer, from which the thief took £9, were the ironical words: "So grateful," printed in blue pencil. The caretaker's bible was left- open at tho/20th chapter of Exodus, and tlio words of tlio 15th verse, "Thou slialt not steal," were carefully underlined by tho thief.],
