The setting iip of a Select Commits tee of Parliament "for the purpose of dealing with the loud and numerous complaints being made throughout the length and' breadth of the country as to the administration of the Military l Service Act, in particular .the work of tiie Military Service Boards, and .to report to this House as to tliil wisdom or otherwise of 'skinning' our farms of essential farmers and farm labour without any regard for the efficiency and 1 production for which the Government is crying out, and for consequent private and national loss," is a proposal suggested by Mr W. 11. Field, M;P. for Otaki, Sir James Allen does not look with a kindly eye on. the proposal, his reasons'being set forth as follows: "It is not considered necessary -to "sot up a Select Committee for the purpose aug* gested..
