The Calm is expected to arrive from Bluff on Wednesday to load for "Wetling,on and Wanganul The good state of the bar was referred to at a recent meeting if the Greymouth Harbour Board, ,Mr J. Steer (chairman) stated that, although the dredge had not been used for two mouths, the bar had remained very satisfactory. The harbour master reported: —"During the' inon'.h the bar has maintained a fair average depth, On June 20 a moderate fresh scoured ; out the, bar to 14ft l.w.s.t. The average depths at high water for June were:—Springs, June. 6, bar 20ft 6in, river 25ft; June 20, bar 24ft 6in, river Soft; June 28, bar 22ft Din,-river 23ft Sin. Mean average for month: Bar 22ft, river 25ft." The report of the Westport Harbour Board for the month of June shows that the coal exports were:—Westport Coal Company, Ltd,, 46,360 tons lpewt, coke 144 tons 2cwt; the Westport-Stockton Coal Company, Ltd,, 15,255 tons llcwt; and the Coal Creek mining party, 235 tons l.icwt. The export of timber for the month was 60,700 sup? feet. During the month forty-eight steamers entered the port and forty-four left, making a tonnage of 55,077.f0r the month. At moan high waier there was 26ft lOin in the liver and 25ft Gin over the bar.
