GHRISTCHUBCHGMIN MARKETS. , (Per Press Association,) CIIRISTCHURCII, July 111, There is nothing doing in the wheat market, There is a little more inquiry for oats, as the demanad for seed for spring sowing is now beginning to set in, Local supplies are dillicult to obtain, and the fact that the oats market in Australia is firmer, and that shipping space is being taken up with wheat, reduces the prospects of getting supplies from there.'

The potato market is dull, for although there are now more sellers, there is very little demand. Auckland buyers, who have made forward purchases, have not yet had all their orders filled, as, owing to the glut iu the market, they have been asking merchants to hold back their shipments. Until these old orders are cleared lip local merchants are not ready to make any extensive purchases, as the future of the market is yet doubtful. The shipment of a large quantity of potatoes from the south, especially to the Wellington market, on consignment, has not tended to improve the position. A considerable quantity of these potatoes came from localities affected by heavy rains, and their condition is not good. The local price at counting stations is nominally £3 to £,i 5s per ton. Seed potatoes arc still being inquired for in the North Island.

There is a little business doing in oatsheaf chaff, and up to £4 5s has been paid for prime lots at countrv stations.
