In opening the Federal Parliament, the Governor-General reviewed the Federal policy as forecasted regarding reinforcements, jthe curtail'meiit of sport, the employment of returned soldiers, an increase in the income tax. and the war profits tax, raising war loans locally, the prevention of strikes and look-outs affecting the prosecution of the war, and an extensive shipbuilding programme.
