The War .Department lias announced that it has changed the height requirement for recruits, thus making available thousands of additional drafted men. The minimum is now sft lin and the' maximum 6ft Gin. The slow organisation of exemption boards is delaying drafting.

The United Press correspondent at Washington states that the Navy Department has revealed that the United States is building 300 submarine chasera, each 110 ft long.
