BURGLAR'S ACTIVITY.

ENERGETIC BUT FRUITLESS, EFFORTS. Ter Press Associatioi CIIRISTCIIURCII, July 11. Burglars have been very active in jliristchurch of late. The premises of llcClatchie and Co., Hereford street, were cutcved and the office ransacked. The cash tills were found to be empty, however, and the intruders then turned their attention to the offices of Kinscy and Co., in the same building, but the search for money was fruitless. The visitors evidently laboured under a delusion. They wero sure of a "haul" in ,McClatcliic','j pre-, mises, for they entered the office at the firm's coal sidiiig in Moorliousc avenue the same night, but were again disappointed. These attempts, folowcd by a similar one at the High street Post office, show that someone, presumably an amateur, is displaying much activity at present, •'.'..
