SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE.
MEETING IN TIMABU. (J*«r PrcM flMiwlntion ) TIMABU, July 10. At a well-attended public meeting tonight under the auspices of the Second Division League, all the speaker agreed that it was necessary to continue the reinforcements till the war was won, ljut the Government should make adequate provision for the dependants. This could easily be done out of war profits. A resolution Was carried unanimously that the Government be urged to in-, crease the allowances for wife and ono child from Gs;> !)d to 10s per day, and otlior increases in. proportion. A meeting of the Gapes Vallpy settlers, a few days ago ; . refused to join tlio league on the ground that it was asking too much.
