REPRESENTATIVE CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON.

WELLINGTON, April 19,

A conference representing the various Farmers' Co-operative.Associations of<Ncw Zealand was liekl in Wellington this week to finally fix the details for the formation of a Farmers' Co-opera-tive' Wholesale Federation of New Zealand, Ltd. It was decided to register the company immediately with a nominal capital tixed at present at £IOO,OOO, while the aggregate nominal capital of the subscribed associations is nearly three millions sterling, With regard to the capital, it is not the idea of the controlling boards of the several associations that the Federation itself should embark upon venturos involving largo capital responsibilities, but rather that it should become the medium of inauguration, It is confined to genuine farmers' co-operative associations and companies in which the majority are actually engaged directly or in any subsidiary branch of farming or in any industry allied thereto, It has been decided to confine the initial work to such activities as will most effectively assist shareholders of associations and 1 companies in their major operations, both in regard to imports and exports.. The Federation will also collect commercial data of all kinds concerning British and other markets, and secure and manage Dominion. British, and foreign agencies of linea of interest to the various associations.
