The committee desires'to thank' Miss Hunter for donating several prizes to the children in her room; Mr Rcilly for his care in fumigating the rooms, the caretaker for the excellent manner in.which she carried out her duties, During tho year twelve meetings were held all of which were well attended, The number of children on tho roll at present is 46, Average for tho year 46; for the quarter just ended 44, The committee started the year with a credit balance of £7 19s 4d. The receipts for the year were £4B -10s 9d and the expenditure £4l 7s 3d; leaving a credit balance of £7 3s 4d."

Messrs J, Adams (chairman), Pringle (secretary), Prater, Sonicrvillc and W, Mc-Quadc were elected a coimuittec for the ensuing year, -and it was decided that the meeting night be the-first Thursday in tho mouth. Mr Lory, who had beeu a member of the committee for over twenty years did not seek re-election.

KAKANUI SCHOOL.

The annual niccling of householders was held on the Kith hist, There was a highly satisfactory attendance. The annual report and balance-sheet showed that the school is in a very satisfactory position both financially and educationally. The school grounds were beautified by planting. and the approaches improved. The committee expressed indebtedness to Miss Wilson for the manner in which she prepared the children for tho annual concert. In this she was well supported by Miss B, Minty and the headmaster, and to all three are accorded the committee'a oincerest thanks. The committee began its year with a credit balance in hand of £9 4s 11, and ended with one of £l7 Is 7d.

The report and balance-sheet having been read, the meeting proceeded to the election of the new committee,'and the following gentlemen wore elected— Messrs Maffey, Young, Clevcrley, Barnett, and Elder, the first two being subsequently elected chairman and secretary respectively.

OTEPOPO SCHOOL. The meeting at Otepopo was so poorly attended that those present decided not to go on with the business. WAITAKI BRIDGE SCHOOL. The annual meeting of the Waitaki Bridge School took place on Monday evening last, a fair number being pre; sent. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. , The inspector's report was again an excellent one, and reflects great credit on the teacher (Miss E. Marwick) and the pupils. Four pupils were presented in tho Sixth Standard, three gaining proficiency certificates and one competency, while two pupils succeeded in gaining Junior National Scholarships, The following committee was elected for the ensuing year: D. Bishop, C, Harper, J, Harper, A. Hollaniby, J. Kelly. PUKEURI SCHOOL,

There was a very poor attendance at the householders' meeting on Monday eveni|ng, only four gentlenion being present, Mr A. Gray was'voted to the chair. The report and balance-sheet were rend and adopted, and those present having signified their willingness to act ou the committee, the chairman declared the following gentlemen duly elected: Messrs A, Grant, J, Grant, C. Uelges, and A, Gray. The usual vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting. ■

TEANERAKI SCHOOL. The annual meeting' of householders was hold in the Teaneraki School, there being a very poor attendance. Mr J. Mahoney was voted to the chair, The report was then read, the balancesheet showing a credit 'balance of £7 13s 2d, The attendance during the year showed a marked falliug-off, the services of the second-assistant being dispensed with, The headmaster (Mr Cajder) also resigned to take up a position on the staff of the Maori Hill School, .'..■■ The following were then elected as members of committee for the ensuing year: Messrs J.
