Nominations for the mayoralty and council;elections and also for-borough , representatives on the Waitaki Hospital < and Charitable Aid Board closed yesterday at noon,: The posting of'the list by the returning officer "(Mr £ W. Kent) created.very little interest, Only three of the candidates and a very small gathering of electors were present. For the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board only the required number of candidates were nominated, and they were th i», fore declared duly elected. The con test for the council, however, promises to be keen.
