DIPHTHERIA AND MENINGITIS,

WELLINGTON, April 16,

Gurgeon-Geiieral Henderson slated tonight that three cases of diphtheria had boon discovered among the Twentyn&lilh Reinforcements at Treutham, One patient came from Auckland, one from Wellington, and one from Dunedin, . All were progressing favourably. A case of meningitis had developed among the Twenty-seventh Reinforcements at Tauhcrenikau. The patient, ttu Otago man. was forty-five years of age, and had been in camp three ■weeks. Surgeon-General Henderson added that the attack was not a severe oue, and the patient wis progressing favourably.
