Ho was set down to meet Chip, the American boxer, at Melbourne, on Jlon-. day, but evidently he had not been fount], as the result of-the contest lias not- been announced. Darcy came of Sage on October 31st, and was liable; to respond to the call to arms proclamation for home defence. Rumours were current a few weeks -ago that Darcy in-* tended to leave for America, but he denied any such intention. Since then he has not been seen, and he has made no response to the publicity evoked by his absence. There were rumours that Darcy had shipped for Chile.
