SHMMAUY AND I'O[{KC.'AST. (Per Tress Association.) WELLINGTON, September 7. Mr F. V. Pemberton, acting .Dominion Meteorologist, issued the following weather summary and forecast to-night: "'lntense atmospheric depression still overlies the South Island anil has been responsible for westerly gales southwards of Now Plymouth ami Castle Point. In the southenunost districts, stormy conditions, with 'very heavy rain, have been experienced. • Considerable rain lias also fallen in Hie western districts of the South rsiand, Squally and gloomy, conditions have prevailed generally, except in I lie extreme north, where the weather has been more favourable. "Present' indications are for unsettled ami cloudy weather wilh rain generally, and electrical disturbances in the south, A continuance of boisterous conditions is likely in and southward of Cook Strait, with further heavy rain, Eivei's flooded in Westland and Otago. Expect westeerly winds,.strong to gale, and unsteady barometer,"
