WELLINGTON, September fl. The acting Dominion Meteorologist (Mr P. V. Pemhcrton) this evening' issued the following weather summary and .forecast:—

"The barometer has fallen considerably- in the south since last evening, Westerly winds have prevailed, ami increased in fqreo to-day. Fair weal her has continued in northern districts but cloudy skies became general southward of New Plymouth and Castle Point, and rain has fallen in (he southernmost districts ami in the high country of the South Island. "Present indications are for unsettled, cloudy and squally weather, with rain following generally, and heavy rain in the West Coast'and southernmost districts of the South' Island.
