The use of the Show Grounds was granted to the D, .Squadron of the Fifth Mounted Rides for the purposes of musketry training camp, on the usual conditions. The resignation of.Mr Cecil Sutton was accepted with regret, Mr A. Donglas who also tendered his resignation was asked to reconsider his decision,

Regarding flic application of the Red Cross Society for permission to manage the refreshment booth at the annual Show, the president stated that lie with the secretary had waited on the executive, of the Red Cross-Society and explained the position fully and he said a further letter had been received in connection with the matter. The letter was read by the secretary and intimated tliat tlic Society wnc prepared to pay the Association for the right to manage the refreshments (including morning and afternoon tea, luncheon, sale of sweets, fruit and soft drinks) the average amount, received by the Association ■ for the right, for .the past five years. ]t further requested the right to manage a rest tent, sale of produce, and a display of Red Cross work. The Society requested that if ■the right to manage the refreshments was not granted, I 'they should slill bo allowed to have the. rest tent, produce stall, and display'of Red Cross work. Mr Joseph Williams doubted the wisdom of handing over the management of the refreshments to the Red Cross Society. The Association had been well served iu the past and he thought it would be wise to keep an arrangement that had proved generally satisfactory, He moved as an amendment Hint the offer of the Red Cross Society be not accepted, and that /tenders be called as usual for catering, The motion was seconded by Mr Jos, Mitchell,

Mr H, A. Dovey, suggested that thu rest tent that the Red Cross had last year had deprived the Association of a good deal of revenue, inasmuch as many people rested in that tent, rather than on the grandstand which was provided for the convenience of patrons eff the Show. Messrs J. O, McDonald and Geo, Livingstone supported (lie motion both being assured that the Red Cross Society would provide satisfactory catering and the Association would not'be losing anything on the transaction.

The motion was opposed by Mr Geo, Brownlee who approved of the present arrangements, aud recalled the loss the Association sustained on the occasion when a deviation had been mark from the eustomarv course.
