RETURNED SOLDIERS.

INVALIDED AND WOUNDED BY THE AEAWA. ENTHUSIASTIC AUCKLAND RECEPTION. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Sept. -1. Dr Marshall Macdonald, of Dunedin, who for the past year occupied the position of medicin-major with the French forces, returned by the Arawa as medical officer. He reported that tho health of the officers and men throughout the voyage was excellent. There is only one cot ease, that of a Niue Islander, who is suffering from tuberculosis, Shortly after the commencement of the- voyage one man contracted measles, but the disease did not spread. The route taken by the Arawa was via Cape Town and Hobart, At each place the returning men were treated very hospitably. The officers who returned by the Arawa are Major P, B.' Henderson, Major M. MacDonell, Lieutenant Fromni (in charge of the Niue Islanders), Medicin-Major" Marshall Macdonald, Staff Sergeants-Major W. A. Stedman, H. Wray, C. Dalby, SergeantsMajor F. Holmes, V, Marshall, Quarter-master-Sergeants W, Copping, Westbrook, Sergeants J, A. England and W. Woods, Sisters S, Macdonald, Taylor, and Woods (returned as nurses to invalided men).
