AGED WOMAN TAKES HER LIFE. (Per l'ress Association.) DUNBDIN. September 5. An inquest was held to-day concerning the death of Mrs Matilda Bardslcy, of North East Valley aged 70 years, who died in the hospital this morning. The evidence showed that deceased's husband, on proceeding to the . backyard at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday, found deceased sitting on a box, with a cut in her threat. She suffered from throat trouble, and had to sit up at night for lack of breath. , Medical evidence showed that deceas-ed-had been -menially 'depressed -by the death of her son, who was killed in action. A verdict was returned that death was 'due to injuries sclf-iutlictcd while in a depressed stale of mind.
