WELLINGTON, September 1. .. Mr F. V. Pembcrtou»(assislant Dominion Meteorologist) has issued the following weather summary and forecast:—

A small atmospheric depression passed in the south on Saturday, and again to-day, accounting,for showery conditions in West Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island. Elsewhere fair weather has prevailed generally, and moderate to strong westerly winds have predominated. Present'indications are for moderate to strong west to south-westerly winds, squally at times in and southward of Cook Strait. Weather changeable, with scattered showers, especially in western and southern districts. The barometer is unsteady.
