POSITION OF SCHOOL TEACHERS, (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 4, Replying to an inquiry why the payment of the war bonus to teachers hart been delayed, the Minister (Hon, .1. Hanan) stated that many difficult points had arisen, These had now been decided and the Education Boards were to-day notified to make arrangements for the payments, The distribution of a war bonus had been approved as follows: To all public school'teachers, including pupil teachers, probationers, training college students, and teachers employed wholly in manual training by Education Boards the basis of payment will be for married men (which includes widowers and widows with children under fourteen years of age) £lii. All others £7 IDs, except juveniles under eighteen years of age, to whom £:'» will be payable. In the case of married women, whose husbands are engaged in the (lOveriinient service or Education Board service, no bonus willbe payable, otherwise they will receive. £7los.
