MILITARY SERVICE ACT,

SECOND DIVISION OF BEBEBVE PROCLAIMED. WELLIN3TON, September 2, The enrolment of the Second Division of tho New Zealand Expeditionary Force Reserve, created under the Military Service Act' passed last session, was proclaimed and directed today. This follows upon the enrolment of the First Division, which was proclaimed and directed yesterday. A special meeting of the Executive Council, at which his Excellency the Governor (the Eail of Liverpool) presided,, was held at Government House at 10,30 this morning for the purpose, The proclamation was duly signed by his Excellency, and later a Gazette extraordinary was issued notifying the decision, The proclamation slates:— Whereas by a Proclamation hereto- ' fore made and gazetted on the first day of September, in the year one thousand nine ■hundred anil sixteen, in pursuance of the provisions of the Military Service Act, l!)]fi, the enrolment, of the First Division oE the Expeditionary Force Reserve has been duly proclaimed and directed; Now, thorefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savilc, Earl of Liverpool, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exorcise of the power and authority conferred upon me in that, behalf by the Military Service Act, 191G, and acting by and with the r,dvice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, do hereby proclaim and cljrcctthe enrolment of the Second Division of the Expeditionary Force Reserve. The enrolment of the First and Second Divisions is now proceeding at the various offices throughout the Dominion. The enrolment of the First Division will be continued until' loth September, and of the Second Division until 16th September,
