ENFIELD DEFENCE RIFLE. CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual of the Enfielil Defence Rifle. Clul) was lield on Saturday, a fair attendance of members be? ing-present. The chair was occupied by the president (Mr J, Mahoney) and •the report and ■balance-sheet wore read and-adopted oil the motion of the.president.' The balance-sheet showed that there was a balance in hand of £4 odd. The secretary's report showed, among; other tilings, that live ordinary meot ; ings and-eight management committee meetings had been held,, On account of a difficulty in procuring .303. rifles and ammunition the energies of tlio club had been devoted more to drill and miniature shooting. Twelve outside matches had been lired, of •which seven were won and five lost. A 'total of 7000 rounds had- been fired during the season, and a ver ymarked improvement . had been sliowii ( in the shooting a 9 time, had gone on. The year commenced' with a membership of thirty-four active members and six honorary members,: with live members away at the front, / The roll at present showed thirty-two active members, six honorary members, and eleven men away or hi training. Several interesting local matches had boon fired; and .resulted in, very keen competition and close finishes.. A great deal of thanks was due to Captain-Red-mond for assistance given and general courtesy always shown. , , . Officers were elected for. the; ensuing year as follows: President, Mr J. "k.
