BILLETING SOLDIERS.

The Mayor added that he had learned that Christcluirch so far had not had the felicity of billeting any large number of soldiers because the offer had never been made, .lie was sure that the city would, gladly billet the men of some future Reinforcement, and lie would like to know whether the council would like him lo make the offer. , On the motion of Councillor A. S, Taylor it was resolved In thank the ladies, and empower Ihe Mayor to lake what steps he might think fit in connection with the matter.
