OAMARU HARBOUR BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. DISPOSAL OF DREDGE PROGRESS.

The monthly meeting of the Oaniaru Harbour Board' was held yestenlav morning, the chairman (Mr R. Milligau) presiding. There were • also present: Messrs A, X. Hayes, J. M. Brown, J, McCulloch, W. FT. Frith, Geo. Livingstone, .1. 0. Xicolls, A. Mackay. and E, Lane.

Messrs J. I). Familton and Sun and Walter .Smuptcr wrote accepting the position of joint auctioneers of Hie board's leases.

Accounts totalliug,. Jt.'Jl:> 7/2 were passed for payment.

Messrs Miller ami Co., Port Chalmers, wrote as follows:

With further reference to dredge Progress, we have been engaged during the past two months preparing plans and specifications for the necessary alterations tii make tin 1 vessel suitable for the trade which it is proposed to employ her in, and as our option expires on the -7th next month we are afraid the time will lie rather short for us to complete arrangements for the floating of our promised company. It was resolved that the offer of Messrs Miller Mros. be accepted in terms of their letter, provided that legal security can be obtained, and that the chairman and secretary of the board Ijc authorised to atfix the'seal of the board and execute all ueccssarv documents.

Mr \\. A. Crouch wrote asking permission to build a boatshed on the fore-shore.--]'ermission was granted subject to the approval of the engineer and during the pleasure of the board.
