Messrs Mellsop, Elliot and Co., local agents for Mr Gilbert Anderson have received the following cablegram from Mr Anderson, in London:— "The present unsatisfactory position in the meat trade is caused by the absence of New Zealand supplies. New Zealand prices are fixed by the Board of Trade, while the prices of foreign shipments of meat are uncontrolled. American salesmen are drawing further : suplies of New Zealand meat, .which enables them to maintain the disparity hi prices.''
