FIRE AT WAIUKU.

A SERIOUS OUTBREAK,

IXCBNJ)IABISM SUSPECTED.

A lire at AVaiuku at 4 o'clock this morning totally destroyed the shops of .I. Cribble (saddler), king (stationer), and also Waldiug's boardiughouso, Mini's bakery, an empty shop, the shop adjoining Storeys (watchmaker), Faricily Volllce, 11. S, Linuner's butchery, I a shop owned by Menace Kaihnu.

The occupants of Waldiug's and Hlint's escaped in their night clothes. Nothing was saved from the premises destroyed, except at Storey's.

Incendiarism is suspected. There were two outbreaks. The first was at dribble's shop on Sunday morning, which was extinguished in its early stages. The second outbreak occurred this morning, mid was discovered only when the lire had a good hold of dribble's premises. It is believed iliat. after the first lire, rubbish, consisting of straw, etc., which was removed, was brought back. It was found near (fribble's building.
