The conference proved most' successful and instructive, and amongst the important decisions arrived at were : «the following:— ~ ''■ That the Christmas gift, uniform in value, be in the form of an individual parcel and be sent to every New Zealand soldier 011 active service, the gift to be practically 611 the lines of the Dominion Gift scheme. Each donor of as to have the opportunity of enclosing card of Christmas greetings and post card of local views, The articles to be included to be selected from, ihe following:—Pipes, tobacco, cigarettes, socks, milk, sweets, chocolate,' writing pads, boot laces, pocket mirrors, strops; handkerchiefs, insect powder, curry powder, e;c. : .., That the Dominion centres unite.-in providing, at the request of Mrs Mackenzie, underwear, shirts, etc., for :the soldiers on, furlough in Fnglund. That attention to the needs of New Zealand prisoners in Turkey be undertaken by the four centres, a parcel \to be forwarded monthly to each prisoner. Interesting reports of the work done by the four centres was received. The work comprises practically every department of help for the soldiers in camp, on transport, outward bound, returning, on active service, 'and when wounded .or incapacitated, including, also, the care and. cheer of the dependants of the soldiers.
