The, Labour Council adopted a resolution, by sixty-six to thirty, reaffirming hostility to conscription,' and also a resolution .condemning the speeches of the Hon, W. A. Holman, Premier of South Wales, and Lord Mavor Meagher at the recent Town Hall reception to Mr Hughes, wherein they dedared their readiness to support' Mr Hughes whatever his decision. Thev contended that Messrs Holman' and Meagher did not express the views of the workers in general.
