CONCERT AT AWAMOKO.

There was a. full house at Awamoko last'night when the concert given by Mr I)., Thomson's Concert Party on behalf of' the local 'Bed 'Cross Society took place. Mr John King occupied the chair, ami on behalf of the amlieuce welcomeii the, performers. The proceedings opoiied with the singing of the .National Anthem. (lienfell; instrumental selection "Dream Thoughts," Misses Brown and Moodie. ( Mr and Mrs J. L. Steel; duet, "Banks 0' Loch Lomond." Misses I'ollctt; recitation, Miss frith; song. "The King's Own," Mr D, IT, Thomson; song. "Mother Maeree," Mr A Leslie; violin solo, "Operatic Wreath," Mr '.I, L. Steel; duet, '-'Very Suspicious," Miss Collett and Mr Thomson; " Langliiuu Chorus," Concert Party; instrumental trio, "lola,'" M'iss Glen, Messrs' Turner and Steel. The accompaniments were played by' Miss Glen. Perhaps the most popular item of the •evening was. the plantation scene by members of the company, Some witt'v cross-patter was indulged in by the men. and an impersonation of an organj grinder and monkey was given bv Messrs Turner and Leslie. The harmonised singing of well-know elodies such us "Old Kentuckv Home" and '/tea in the.(!olJ ( Uolii Ground," mi.! the, more humorous numbers-"Shine. Shine, Moon" and "Old Banjo," proved very acceptable, A splendid patriotic address was delivered by Rev ,1, L. Robinson. "A vote of thanks was passed to MiGrave for loan of Hags, and similar j votes were passed to Rev. ,1. L, Robinson, the ; performers, Mr Sumpter, ami the car-drivers who kindly provided cars to •■convey'-the performers' to the concert, aud an-especial vote to Mr Thomson for the arrangement of the, concert. ,
