FARMERS' UNION REQUESTS. . (Per Press Association.) 'CHRISTI'HI-RCH, August 23. The Farmers' Union to-day passed the following resolution: "That we request the Government to immediately. ~convcue a conference of the producers, through the executive of the Farmers' Union, with the Government andVAgri. cultural and Pastoral Societies to arrange for next, season's meat supply, and that flic present contracts be terminated." It was decided to send the resolution at once to the Prime Minister, and to the Sheepoffiiers' Federation in Wel- , lington.,.'
