WELLINGTON, July 30. The following is Mr Bates' weather summary for the past 24 hours:— The atmospheric pressure has decreased steadily, and variable winds have but freshening northerlies have ruled in and of "Cook Strait. Pair, weather has predominaated„ but cloudiness has increased generally, and rain has been reported about Foveaux Strait, '' _ forecast.—Present indications are for moderate to strong northerly winds, increasing in force. Generally. Expect dull and misty conditions'and an unfavorable change following, with rain in most parts of the country.
